Our Children

hol-girl Homes of Love children come from many different vulnerable and at-risk situations. They end up in our homes because they do not have families who can adequately provide for them, often having lost one or both parents.  All have experienced extreme poverty, difficult life circumstances and great losses in their short lives.

Some of the children were victims of child labor.  Others are the children of prostitutes or of the mentally ill. Quite a few children have survived life on the streets and were at risk for child trafficking. Our children represent several ethnic groups and come to our homes speaking a number of different languages.

hol-boys The children come from Christian and non-Christian families, with a variety of religions practiced. As they enter the home, most are lacking in basic education. Many suffered from extreme malnutrition as well.

As the warmth of the sun is essential to life, it’s the warmth of the Father’s love, experienced through their HOL family, that brings fullness of life to the children. And like a gentle rain restores a scorched and dry land, we seek Him to ultimately  restore and heal our children’s hearts and minds.

Nor will the scorching heat or sun strike them down;
For He who has compassion on them will lead them
And will guide them to springs of water.”
